Do I need a membership to ride with Green Route?
Yes, if you would like to continue riding with Green Route, you will need to purchase an annual membership. You can attend one free ride at any time during the year, called a "try-it-ride."
Do I need a Manitoba Cycling Association membership to ride with Green Route?
Yes, all club members must be members of the Manitoba Cycling Association. You may choose a General Membership (recreational), Manitoba License, or UCI Race License (for sanctioned road races).
How challenging are Green Route club rides?
The speed and difficulty of our club rides vary depending on the ride, route, and group. While we strive to be inclusive of all abilities, our current structure caters to cyclists who can ride at an average speed of 32 - 38 kph and have experience riding in a paceline.
What types of riders join Green Route?
All riders are welcome! Currently, Green Route consists of cyclists ranging from Category 5 to Category 3. Please refer to the Manitoba Cycling Association's categories and upgrades page to learn more about age and ability-based categories.
Does Green Route have a race team?
Yes! Green Route offers club rides for those seeking a social yet challenging riding experience while learning the fundamentals of pacelines and cycling etiquette. We also have a race team that participates in local road races and international cycling events like Gran Fondos, Belgian Waffle Race, and Haute Route, focusing on structured training, race strategy, and team tactics.

Currently, Green Route focuses on road rides, but as we continue to grow, we have plans to expand into other cycling disciplines in the future.
